Irish And Boilermakers Renewed Rivalry To Be Broadcast On CBS

The University of Notre Dame will face one of its long-time rivals, Purdue, for just the second time in eight years on national television September 14, 2024. In its first full season as a new broadcast partner for the Big Ten Network, CBS has selected the Irish and Boilermaker contest as one of its nationally televised events. The game will kickoff in Ross-Ade Stadium at 3:30 p.m. ET.

The game will be the first regular-season Notre Dame football broadcast since the Irish faced Georgia in Sanford Stadium on September 21, 2019. Notre Dame is 34-16 (.680) all-time in CBS nationally-televised games.

Notre Dame and Purdue will renew their long-time rivalry and battle for the Shillelagh Trophy. The Irish – Boilermakers series began in 1896 and is the third-most prolific in Notre Dame history with 87 meetings, trailing just Navy (96) and Southern Cal (94). Notre Dame holds a 59-26-2 advantage in the series, has won the last eight meetings against Purdue and earned a victory in its last three visits to Ross-Ade Stadium.
