NOTRE DAME, Ind. —The Notre Dame Baseball program and John P. and Catherine Murphy Head Baseball Coach Shawn Stiffler today announced the schedule for the 2024 spring season.
The 2024 slate features matchups against five teams who made the 2023 NCAA Tournament, including the top four teams in the 2023 ACC Tournament: champion Clemson, runner-up Miami, North Carolina and Wake Forest. The full schedule is available here.
“Our 2024 schedule presents the opportunity for us to compete at the highest level against some of the top teams in the country,” Stiffler said. “We’ve had a great semester of preparation this fall with our veterans and newcomers, and I’m looking forward to seeing our guys take the field with one another.”
Notre Dame will begin its season on the road with series against non-conference opponents Rice (Feb. 16-18), FIU (Feb. 23-25) and Tennessee Tech (March 1-3).
The Irish will host their first home game of the season on March 5 against instate opponent Purdue, before heading back out on the road for spring break to kick off conference play. Notre Dame will face Virginia Tech in their first ACC action of the season (March 8-10), followed by a midweek stop at Radford (March 12-13) before traveling to Tallahassee to take on Florida State (March 15-17).
Notre Dame returns home for a slate beginning with Western Michigan (March 19), followed by a weekend series vs. Miami (March 22-24) and a midweek game against Bowling Green (March 26). The Irish will go back on the road Easter weekend to face NC State in Raleigh (March 28-30), returning home to host Michigan State (April 2) in a midweek matchup, and then reigning ACC Champion Clemson for a weekend series (April 5-7).
The Irish host Butler for a midweek game on April 9 before returning to the Triangle for a weekend series at North Carolina (April 12-14). Back at home, Notre Dame will take on Valparaiso (April 16) and IPFW (April 17) in midweek matchups before hosting Boston College April 19-21. The Irish will play host to Central Michigan on April 24 before Wake Forest visits for a weekend series (April 26-28).
Notre Dame will go back on the road, traveling for a midweek game at Michigan State (April 30) before coming back to the Eck for its two final home series of the regular season, hosting Pittsburgh (May 3-5) and Toledo (May 10-12).
The Irish will close out the regular season with a midweek trip to Butler (May 14) and a weekend series at Louisville (May 16-18).
The location and dates for the 2024 ACC Tournament will be announced at a later date. From there, the Irish will look to claim a spot in the NCAA postseason, with Regionals taking place May 31-June 3, Super Regionals following from June 7-10, and the Men’s College World Series to close the season June 14-24.
