NOTRE DAME, Ind. – With almost all collegiate baseball summer leagues now approaching their respective midway point, many Notre Dame players have seen solid playing time for their respective squad. Below is an update on how the Irish are faring thus far.
California League
Brayden Ashdown, Cornejo Oaks (15-12-1, 3rd): Has seen action in 22 games, including 17 starts … batting .200 (12-for-60) with 12 runs scored, one home run and eight RBI … has added a double and two triples … his solo home run came in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the Oaks a 2-1 victory over the Santa Barbara Foresters (June 10) … tied for team-high in triples, tied for second in runs scored, second in walks (13) and second in stolen bases (7).
Ryne Intlekofer, Cornejo Oaks (15-12-1, 3rd): Has played in 25 games and started 22 … batting .250 (20-for-80) with 12 runs scored, three doubles, one triple and 11 RBI … has also added six stolen bases in seven attempts … tied for third on team in games played, third in hits, fourth in RBI, tied for third in stolen bases and tied for the team-lead in sac flies (2).
Matt Scioscia, Cornejo Oaks (15-12-1, 3rd): Has played in27 games and started 26 (at DH, C and 1B) … batting .258 (25-for-97) with five runs scored, nine doubles and 19 RBI … has also drawn eight walks … leads the team in both doubles and RBI … ranks second in hits and total bases (36) … leads the league in doubles and ranks fourth in RBI.

Cape Cod League
Evan Danieli, Falmouth Commodores (12-13, 4th Western): Has pitched in seven games in relief … stands 1-0 with a 3.77 earned run average … worked 14.1 innings and allowed six earned runs on 13 hits … struck out 16 and walked nine … tied for second on the team in relief appearances and ranks third in games finished … opponents are hitting .194 against him.
Brian Dupra, Harwich Mariners (14-12, 2nd Eastern): Has pitched in 11 games out of the bullpen … sports a 2-1 record with a 1.88 earned run average … has surrendered 27 hits in 28.2 innings of work, but has also struck out 24 and walked 13 … tied for the team-lead in victories, ranks second in total appearances and appearances out of the bullpen, ranks second in innings pitched, ranks fourth in strikeouts and has still not surrendered a home run … opponents are batting just .225 against him.
A.J. Pollock, Falmouth Commodores (12-13, 4th Western): Has started 22 games in the outfield and in the leadoff spot … leads the team with a .382 batting average (34-for-89) … also leads the club with 22 runs scored, 51 total bases, nine doubles and one triple (tied) … second on team with 34 hits, two home runs (tied), 10 walks (tied) and four stolen bases … ranks among the top five in the league in the following categories: hits (fifth), doubles (tied second), on-base percentage (fifth), slugging percentage (fourth), extra-base hits (tied fourth) and runs scored (third).
Ryan Sharpley, Hyannis Mets (16-10, 1st Western): Has pitched in five games, including one start … stands 1-1 with a 5.14 earned run average in 14.0 innings of work … has allowed 13 hits and eight earned runs … struck out a team-best 24 and walked eight … opponents are batting only .194 against him.
Coastal Plains League
Matt Katich, Forest City Owls (21-18, 2nd West): Has played in and started 18 games (all at C) … batting .222 (12-for-54) with nine runs scored, one double and five RBI … has committed just two errors in 145 chances behind the plate … has thrown out eight of 28 stolen base attempts.
Herman Petzold, Florence RedWolves (25-10, 1st South): Has played in 30 games and started 26 games (predominantly at 2B) … batting .260 (27-for-104) with 12 runs scored, five doubles, one home run and 17 RBI … smacked a seventh inning, gamewinning two-run home run to lead the RedWolves past Columbia, 5-3, on June 24.
Great Lakes League
Cole Johnson, Stark County Terriers (14-10, 2nd): Has appeared in five games and started four … sports a 3-0 record with 2.86 earned run average in 22.0 innings of work … allowed just 16 hits and four walks, along with 22 strikeouts … opponents are batting just .205 against him … combined with another pitcher to register shutout (W, 1-0) over Cincinnati Steam and also tossed a complete game … leads staff in wins, starts (four, tied), innings pitched and ranks second in strikeouts … registered a league season-high tying 10 punch outs against Locos on July 12 … tied for the league lead in wins.
Cameron McConnell, Delaware Cows (11-13-1, 7th): Has appeared in six games and started each of them … batting .250 (5-for-20) with a pair of doubles and one RBI … started the season opener (W, 2-0 over Grand Lake Mariners) and went 2-for-2.
Great South League

Jayhawk League
Ty Adams, Hays Larks (23-12, 1st): Has played in 18 games and started 15 (all in left field) … picked up two hits in first 21 at-bats, but has since batted .286 (8-for-28) with a double, two home runs and four RBI… also scored seven runs … perfect 2-for-2 in stolen bases.
Billy Boockford, Hays Larks (23-12, 1st): Has started 32 games in right field … leads the team in games started and ranks second in games played … batting .256 (31-for-121) with two home runs and seven RBI … third in runs scored (20) … 5-for-6 in stolen base attempts.
Mick Doyle, Joplin Splashers (9-21, 6th): Has played in 24 games (stats not up-to-date) … batting .268 (22-for-82) with 13 runs scored, two doubles and six RBI.
Steven Mazur, Hays Larks (23-12, 1st): Has appeared in 15 games out of the bullpen (serving as the team’s closer) and made one start… sports a 3-0 record with a 1.17 earned run average and two saves … has allowed 19 hits in 30.2 innings … also struck out 47 and walked just nine, while opponents are hitting only .179 against him … leads the league in strikeouts.
Mountain Collegiate League
Andrew Scheid, Laramie Colts (22-12; 1st: Has made six appearances, all starts … stands 3-1 with a 4.73 earned run average … tossed 26.2 innings and allowed 32 hits and 14 earned runs … struck out 14 and walked 15 … tied for second on the team in victories.
New England League
Matt Grosso, Manchester Silkworms (11-18, 5th Southern): Has appeared in and started 28 games (LF and DH) … batting .325 (37-for-114) with 10 runs scored, 10 doubles and 12 RBI … leads the team in hitting, slugging percentage (.412), on-base percentage (.364), hits, RBI (tied), doubles and total bases (47) … ranks fifth in the league in hits and second in doubles.
Greg Sherry, Vermont Mountaineers (15-13, 4th Northern): Has appeared in 23 games and started 21 (SS and 2B) … batting .149 (11-for-74) with five runs scored, one double and six RBI … 5-for-6 in stolen bases … added 11 walks.
New York League
Will Harford, Geneva Red Wings (13-12, 4th West): Has appeared in 21 games and started 14 … opened the season batting .167 (2-for-12) with a pair of singles and run scored, but has hit .382 (18-for-47) over last 19 games to raise average to .339 … added 11 runs scored, seven doubles and 12 RBI … second on the team in batting average and third in RBI.
Eddy Mendiola, Geneva Red Wings (13-12, 4th West): Has appeared in 25 games and started 23 … batting .271 (23-for-85) with 12 runs scored, five doubles and eight RBI … also a 7-for-11 in stolen bases … drawn 15 walks … named to the Western Division All-Star team and earned the Tom Kenny Gold Glove Award (Defensive MVP).
Northwoods League
