NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame volleyball team closes out the home portion of its 2015 schedule this weekend with Atlantic Coast Conference matches against Georgia Tech (17-11, 8-8 ACC) and Clemson (6-22, 1-15 ACC) at Purcell Pavilion.

Here are five things to know for this weekend’s ACC matches:
- Sophomore Sam Fry is putting together an outstanding season on both offense and defense … since 2009, four Irish players have totaled over 200 kills and 100 blocks a combined five times and Fry has two of them … she had 242 kills and 107 blocks last year as a freshman and has 302 kills and 106 blocks this season … the other ND student-athletes to perform this feat are Jeni Houser (311 kills & 117 blocks in 2012), Kelli Sciaccia (306 kills & 119 blocks in 2010) and Hilary Eppink (252 kills & 107 blocks in 2010).
- Freshman Meg Morningstar put together as efficient a match as anyone that has recently put on an Irish uniform last week at Miami … the Wexford, Pennsylvania native tallied eight kills on 11 swings for a .727 attack percentage … she was the first player since former honorable mention All-American Toni Alugbue to reach the .700 mark while also totaling 10 or more attack attempts … Alugbue had a match for the ages September 1, 2012 when she totaled 21 kills and no errors on 30 attempts (.700 A%) in a 3-1 win over Buffalo.
- Normally Sunday would be senior day, but Notre Dame’s lone senior – Haley Bonneval – is planning on coming back for the 2015-16 school year … Bonneval is on pace to graduate in May with a degree in accounting from the Mendoza College of Business … having only played for the Irish in two seasons, Bonneval will be back in a Notre Dame uniform in 2016 while working towards a Master’s in accountancy.
- Georgia Tech (17-11, 8-8 ACC) swept the Irish in Atlanta October 11 (25-12, 25-18, 25-17) … in order to gain a measure of revenge, Notre Dame (6-22, 1-15 ACC) will need to contain the sister combo of Annika and Teegan Van Gunst, who combined for 23 of Georgia Tech’s 39 kills in the win. They both had high attack percentages and recorded double-doubles in kills and digs.
- Notre Dame’s lone ACC win this season came against the Tigers (6-22, 1-15 ACC), who are also struggling under a first-year head coach … in that 3-2 win over Clemson October 9, the Irish jumped out to a 2-0 lead before holding on late for the win … Leah Perri had 19 kills and libero Keelie Arneson totaled 21 kills to lead the Tigers … for ND, Maddie Plumlee had a career-high 19 kills, while Fry (13) and Sydney Kuhn (10) also reached double figures … libero Ryann DeJarld had 22 digs and setter Taylor Zwickl recorded 50 assists, seven digs, two kills and a remarkable four service aces to help the Irish cause.
