SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame softball team stays on the road for its fourth-consecutive game Tuesday evening. The Fighting Irish will head to Bloomington for a matchup with the Indiana Hoosiers at Andy Mohr Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
The two teams have met in midweek contests the past two seasons, with the Irish getting the better end of both matchups. Last season, the Irish earned a 9-1 victory in six innings. Prior to reigniting the series in 2022, the last time Notre Dame met up with the Hoosiers on the softball diamond was 2004, a 4-0 Irish win.
Notre Dame comes into the midweek contest after a tough weekend in Tallahassee, dropping three games to the 18th ranked Florida State Seminoles. The Irish have had success in midweek games, going 21-0 in the last three seasons, with the last Tuesday or Wednesday regular season loss occurring at Purdue in 2019. The last time in Bloomington, it took an extra inning for the Irish to earn the victory, scoring four in the eighth to earn the 8-5 win in 2022.
Indiana comes in on a hot streak, winning its last six games with Big Ten series sweeps of Minnesota and Michigan State. Overall, the Hoosiers are 29-12 and 11-3 in their home ballpark. Indiana has hit 48 homers as a team, ranking 23rd nationally in home runs per game.
The game will feature live stats and a video stream on the Big Ten Network Plus.
