PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – The Irish doubles team of Kelcy Tefft and Kali Krisik ended their run Thursday in the Riviera/ITA All-American Championship with a first-round loss in the tournament’s main draw.
Tefft and Krisik, the 25th-ranked doubles team, dropped their match to Florida’s sixth-ranked Megan Alexander and Marrit Boonstra, 8-4.
The Irish duo knocked off three ranked teams to qualify for the tournament’s main event.
Tefft and Krisik defeated No. 23 Yvette Hyndman and Chelsea Gullickson, of Georgia, 8-3, in the first round and downed William and Mary’s No. 20 Ragini Acharya and Katarina Zoricic, 8-6, in round two. They knocked off Texas’ 12th-ranked Vanja Corovic and Marija Milic to advance to the main draw.
The Irish will compete in the Midwest Regionals beginning Oct. 23 in Lansing, Mich.
