SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The University of Notre Dame softball team (19-27, 8-13 ACC) fell in heartbreak fashion in Sunday’s series finale, falling 3-2 to Syracuse after winning the first two games of the series.
Hayden Kyne hit her fourth home run of the year in this one, a solo shot to left field in the fourth inning that gave the Irish a two-run lead at the time. Kyne is up to 23 RBI on the year.
Notre Dame pitching struck out seven Orange on the day, five from Sunday starter Micaela Kastor in little over five innings and two from Kami Kamzik in an inning of work.
Notre Dame returns to Melissa Cook Stadium for a seven-game homestand to end the regular season, starting Tuesday, April 21st with a matchup against Central Michigan at 5 p.m. ET. Admission is free to all regular season Irish softball games.
