NOTRE DAME, Indiana — The Notre Dame Women’s Tennis team began the weekend with a decisive, 6-1 victory over the Indiana Hoosiers at the Eck Tennis Pavilion. The Irish recorded five singles victories in the match, earning their 10th victory on the season.
How It Happened
The Irish started off with a quick, 1-0 victory after winning the doubles point. The duo of Bess Waldram and Zoe Taylor defeated Michelle McKamey and Lexi Kubas, 6-4, to tie the Irish with Indiana. With the doubles point on the line, Cameron Corse and Page Freeman teamed up to defeat Annabelle Andrinopou and Jelly Bozovic, 6-4, to clinch the point for the Irish.
Page Freeman brought home the first singles point of the day, putting the Irish up 2-0 over Indiana. The freshman defeated Alexandra Staiculesc, 6-0, 6-1, to win the point.
Zoe Spence followed quickly behind with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Annabelle Andrinopou, before Ally Bojczuk clinched her point with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Michelle McKamey.
Cameron Corse defeated Caitlin Bernard, 6-2, 7-5, bringing the tally to 5-1 in favor of the Irish.
Maeve Koscielski concluded play with the final Irish point of the day. Koscielski downed Rose Hu in a hard-fought battle, 6-3, 6-7, 1-0 (10-4).
