GREENSBORO, N.C. — No. 6 Notre Dame kicks off its 2025 postseason on Friday with a quarterfinal matchup against California (25-7, 12-6) in the ACC Tournament.
Notre Dame and California faced off on Feb. 9, and the Irish emerged with a 91-52 win, its largest over a ranked opponent since joining the ACC. Hidalgo had 24 points, and both Miles and Sonia Citron had 16. Everything was falling for Notre Dame, as the Irish shot 55.7 percent from the floor, their highest mark against a major conference opponent this season.
Cal topped Virginia in yesterday’s second round, defeating the 10th-seeded Cavaliers, 75-58. Four Golden Bears scored in double-figures; Marta Suarez, Lulu Twidale and Ugonne Onyiah each had 16 points, and Kayla Williams had 12.
Friday’s game tips off on ESPN2 at 5 p.m. Notre Dame is 4-0 all-time against Cal. Pam Ward and Stephanie White are on the call.
