BIMINI, Bahamas – The Notre Dame Women’s Basketball team will head to the Caribbean for Thanksgiving when they compete in the 2022 Goombay Splash. The Fighting Irish will clash with two set opponents in American and Arizona State.
Now entering its twentieth year in the Bahamas, the Goombay Splash will take place Nov. 24-26 (Thursday-Saturday) at the Gateway Christian Academy.
Notre Dame will challenge American first on Nov. 24. The loser of that game will play Arizona State first on Nov. 25, while the winner will take on the Sun Devils on Nov. 26.
The tournament will mark the first meeting between American and Notre Dame. Meanwhile, it’ll mark the fifth between the Irish and Arizona State, with the series being tied 2-2. The two sides last met on March 24, 2014, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament – where the Irish won 84-67.
