SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame softball team is set to open its home schedule Tuesday afternoon as the Fighting Irish will host the Bowling Green Falcons in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
The Irish are coming off of a 4-1 weekend at the Marshall March Madness tournament. Notre Dame picked up wins over Indiana State, Ball State and Marshall over the weekend, scoring 36 runs in five games. This will be the first midweek games of the season for the Irish and the earliest home game played in program history. Notre Dame enters at 12-9 on the season.
Bowling Green will come to South Bend for the first time since the 2018 season. The Falcons bring a 1-11 record to town Tuesday. The Irish have won 11-consecutive games over the Falcons, and are 16-6 overall in the series.
