The third weekend of the PLL season occurred this past weekend in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with 13 former Notre Dame players participating. The matchups were headlined by the hosting Waterdogs’ Jake Taylor continuing his quality offensive rookie season. Other notable stories included Pat Kavanagh’s stellar performance and the strong defensive efforts of several former Fighting Irish defensemen.
JAKE TAYLOR
Following his two goal debut last weekend, the crafty rookie put up two strong statlines in front of his home crowd. Against the Boston Cannons, Taylor scored two goals and scooped two ground balls. In the second game of the weekend, he scored three more goals and scooped another ground ball against the Denver Outlaws. The Waterdogs split the two games, going 1-1, and placing their season record at 2-1. Taylor is now tied for second in the PLL in total goals scored with seven on the season.

PAT KAVANAGH
After not playing his best game last week, the second-year attackman bounced back this weekend with the best game of his young career. Kavanagh recorded four points, including three goals and an assist. He also tagged on three ground balls and a win against the home team to his statline. He is now tied for seventh in the league in total goals scored this season with six.

CHRIS KAVANAGH & RYDER GARNSEY

However, they suffered their first loss of the season, putting their record at 2-1. Kavanagh now ties former Irish teammate Jake Taylor for second in total goals scored with seven on the season.
