Notre Dame men’s tennis is aiming to win it all for the third year in a row at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Fort Worth, Texas starting on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT against Arizona. The second matchup of the weekend will be determined by a win or a loss whether ND is in the consolation or championships.
IN THE PAST
In 2018, ND defeated the host team, Texas, 4-3 to advance to the finals with Minnesota, ultimately pulling out a 4-1 win. It was deja vu in 2019 as the Irish swept Vanderbilt 4-0 to move on to the finals. Irish went up against the host team, Oklahoma to pull out the 4-2 victory to claim it all once again. Notre Dame looks for a Kick-Off Weekend 3-peat and a ticket to the ITA Indoor National Championships on February 14.
PREVIOUS MATCHUPS
Within the past 10 years, Notre Dame has not met Arizona, TCU or FAU in regular-season play. The Irish are looking to set a precedent with these three teams by securing the championship victory this weekend.
