SOUTH BEND, Ind. — After another successful season on the diamond, the Irish also excelled in the classroom as they had eight players selected to the All-ACC Academic Team. The eight selections were most by any team in the league and the most ever selections in a single season for the Irish since they joined the league in 2014.
The group was highlighted by graduate student John Michael Bertrand as he was named a second team CoSIDA Academic All-American earlier this month. Bertrand was an All-ACC first team recipient and was a unanimous All-American as he earned a spot on all five teams this year. Ryan Cole also landed on the All-ACC Academic team after earning third team All-ACC honors back in May.
Fellow All-Americans Jack Brannigan and Jack Findlay were named to the Academic All-ACC team. Brannigan earned third team All-American and Findlay was a second team Freshman All-American from Perfect Game. Rounding out the group for the Irish were graduate students David LaManna and Austin Temple and seniors Zack Prajzner and Carter Putz.
