The Notre Dame men?s tennis completed the final day of play at the Tribe Indoor Invitational at the College of William & Mary with a 4-2 record in singles against Virginia Tech and a 1-2 mark in doubles against William & Mary. Senior All-American Ryan Sachire lost 6-3, 6-0 to Virginia Tech?s Adam Marchetti in the No. 1 singles draw, while Matt Daly lost 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 to Davor Dupljak in the No. 2 draw. Casey Smith won 6-3, 6-2 over Michael Kurz at No. 3, and Javier Taborga rallied for a 6-7, 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 4. Andrew Laflin also won a three-set match, beating Jay Bruner 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 5. Aaron Talarico wrapped his 3-0 weekend with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Gerard Baynham at No. 6.
Brian Lubin and Jody Strik beat Sachire and Trent Miller 8-5 at No. 1 doubles. Taborga and Talarico won 9-8 (8-6) over Chris Erikson and Patrick Brown at No. 2. Tim Csontos and Ryan Ariko beat Smith and James Malhame 8-6 at No. 3 doubles.
