The University of Notre Dame rowing team finished up the third of three consecutive challenging weekends at the 2019 Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas, on Saturday, April 27. Planned for two sessions on Saturday, the regatta was forced to move up the first session to Friday, April 26, which set the field for Saturday’s final races.
The Irish capped off a three-weekend run of regattas that saw them travel from California (Lake Natoma Invitational) to Indiana (Dale England Cup) and Texas (Longhorn Invitational) to finish off the regular-season portion of the team’s schedule. The Longhorn Invite was loaded with several of the top teams in the nation as No. 4 Texas, No. 10 Virginia, No. 11 Southern Cal, No. 16 Indiana and No. 18 Oregon State were in the field along with the Fighting Irish (who were in the ‘also receiving votes’ category of last week’s U.S. Rowing/College Rowing Coaches Association Top 25).
Notre Dame will begin training for the 2019 ACC Championship, held on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, South Carolina, beginning Friday, May 17th.
