Irish Picked First In ACC Preseason Poll

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The 2023 defending national champion Fighting Irish were selected first in the 2024 ACC Preseason Poll voted on by the conference coaches on Tuesday afternoon.

Notre Dame came in first with 23 points followed by Duke (19), Virginia (16), North Carolina (9) and Syracuse (8).

Four members of the Irish were placed on the Preseason All-ACC Team, as two-time Tewaaraton Finalist Pat Kavanagh represented the Notre Dame attack. The USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Midfielder of the Year Eric Dobson earned a spot as a midfielder while the reigning National Goalie of the Year Liam Entenmann was the only goalie on the team. The fourth Fighting Irish member to earn the accolade was Ben Ramsey, who is the lone SSDM  honoree.

Notre Dame has one final tuneup before the 2024 regular season gets underway, as it hosts Detroit Mercy in the final exhibition of the season on Sunday, Feb. 4 at 10 a.m. ET inside Loftus Sports Center.

The official 2024 season opener against Cleveland State will start at 6 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Feb. 14 inside Loftus Sports Center. Admission to all regular-season home games is free.
