LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Notre Dame Track and Field team is sending 17 qualifiers to the 2026 NCAA East First Round. The NCAA East First Round begins on Wednesday, May 27, and concludes on Saturday, May 30.
The collegiate leader for the women’s 3000m Steeplechase, Sophie Novak, headlines the qualifiers list for the Irish women’s side. Fresh off an individual ACC title, Novak will compete in the steeplechase on Saturday night. Rosie Mucharsky will also be in action in the steeplechase. The top 12 advance in this event, and both will be looking to either finish in the top three of their heat or have the next three fastest times.
Obiora Okeke headlines the list for the Irish men. Okeke will be competing in three separate events in Lexington this week: the shot put, the hammer and the discus.
