NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame women’s golf team begins its final preparation before postseason play, competing at the Bryan National Collegiate on Friday in Greensboro, North Carolina. The tournament is taking place at the Bryan Park Champions Course, a 6,386 yard, par-72.

Due to the forecast of ominous weather this weekend, the tournament will play 36 holes on Friday and then will attempt to get the final 18 in on either Saturday or Sunday, weather permitting. “We will be looking to get some consistent scoring throughout the lineup so we can gain some confidence heading into ACC ‘s and the NCAA tournament,” Notre Dame head coach Susan Holt said. “Our goal all year has been to get a top five finish every time we compete. We have done that in four of seven events so I like our chances. We just need to put three solid rounds together again.”

THE FIELD
The No. 39 Irish will be one of 18 teams vying for the Bryan National Collegiate title, as the field consists of No. 22 Auburn, Charlotte, No. 31 Clemson, Colorado State, No. 7 Furman, Georgetown, Kentucky, No. 18 Miami, Michigan, No. 24 North Carolina, No. 35 NC State, No. 9 South Carolina, No. 47 Tennessee, UCF, UNCG, No. 26 Virginia and No. 21 Wake Forest.

“We’re really looking forward to getting back out and competing this weekend,” Holt continued. “It’s a great field with 11 of the 18 teams ranked in the Golfstat top-50. It’s a great opportunity for us to pick up some quality head-to-head wins late in the season.”

THE IRISH FIVE
Representing the Irish in the final tune-up will be Emma Albrecht, Maddie Rose Hamilton, Abby Heck, Isabella DiLisio and Mia Ayer.

Albrecht and Hamilton continue to lead the Irish this season, boasting a stroke round average of 71.85 and 72.60, respectively. The duo are both coming off of a top-10 finish at the Clover Cup, where they each tied for ninth with a 219 (+3) tournament total.
