Irish Return Home to Host Undefeated Hawkeyes

The Notre Dame women's soccer team returns to the friendly confines of Alumni Stadium for the first time in two weeks to take on its second undefeated foe this week.

NOTRE DAME, Indiana — The Notre Dame women’s soccer team returns to the friendly confines of Alumni Stadium for the first time in two weeks to take on its second undefeated foe this week. The Irish (6-1) welcome the Iowa Hawkeyes on Sunday, their third Big Ten opponent this season. The Irish have yet to concede a goal at home through three games and look to improve to 3-0 against the Big Ten.

Know the Opponent: Iowa Hawkeyes

  • Notre Dame and Iowa will meet for just the third time in school history Sunday afternoon at Alumni Stadium.
  • The Irish hold a 2-0 all-time series lead and it is the first time the two schools have met since 2017.
  • The last time these two teams played, the Irish defeated the Hawkeyes 2-0 in Iowa City on August 27 on the back of two first half goals from Sabrina Flores and Natalie Jacobs.
  • The Hawkeyes are the third Big Ten school the Irish will face this season. Notre Dame defeated Northwestern 4-0 at home and Michigan 1-0 on the road.
