Irish Round Out Season At NCAA Championships

Reyes-Gentry finished seventh in the 100 back and set a new school record

ATLANTA — Notre Dame men’s swimming and diving wrapped up the 2025-26 season last week with a 37th-place finish at the 2026 NCAA Championships on the campus of Georgia Tech. Senior Marcus Reyes-Gentry posted the top individual performance of the meet, finishing seventh in the 100 back with a time of 44.14 and earning All-America honors. He also posted a time of 44.07 in prelims, breaking the school record.

Notre Dame had four additional individual swimming events, including a 23rd-place finish for Reyes-Gentry in the 100 fly (45.23).

Senior Tommy Janton placed 19th in the 100 back (44.94) and 33rd in the 200 back (1:40.96), while sophomore and Texas transfer Jeremy Kelly placed 26th in the 200 IM (1:44.16). Kelly holds the school record in the event after going 1:42.46 at ACC Championships.

In the diving well, Daniel Knapp finished 13th in the 3-meter (371.70), and Ben Nguyen placed 29th in the platform (307.80).

The Irish also qualified for the meet in all five relays — 200 and 400 medley plus 200, 400 and 800 free. Notre Dame’s best finish of 20th came in the 400 medley relay composed of Janton, Jackson Armour, Reyes-Gentry and Shane Eckler.
