CHARLOTTE – Riding a six-game winning streak, the University of Notre Dame softball team secured the eighth seed in this week’s ACC Softball Championships at Palmer Park in Charlottesville, Virginia.
The Irish will compete against ninth-seeded Georgia Tech on Wednesday, May 6th at 11:00 a.m. on ACC Network. It’s first game of the week long tournament and the winner will face top-seed Florida State on Thursday.
After being picked to finish 11th in the ACC preseason poll earlier this year, Notre Dame vaulted to eighth in the standings after winning five of its last six conference games to close the regular season, including a sweep over Boston College. The 11 conference wins this season for second-year head coach Kris Ganeff are four more than last year in her first year at the helm.
