NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame men’s and women’s track and field teams travel to Greensboro, N.C., May 23-25, to participate in the 2013 NCAA East Preliminary Round on the campus of North Carolina A & T. Twenty-four Irish student-athletes, headed by 10 indoor All-Americans, will represent the blue and gold. Notre Dame qualified 20 or more student-athletes for the event for the fifth consecutive outdoor season.

Action will kickoff Thursday at 4:30 p.m. beginning with the women’s 400mH and will conclude Saturday following the men’s 4x400m relay at 9:45 p.m.

Individual and team qualifiers from the regional contest will advance to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., on June 5-8, 2013.

EAST Preliminary List: Seven Notre Dame student-athletes rank in the East’s top-10 in their respective event while the men’s and women’s 4x400m team each rank seventh or better. Michelle Brown is the top-ranked participant, entering at No. 2 in the 400m (52.19) and is joined by Margaret Bamgbose (52.25) who ranks third on the list. Jeremy Rae is the highest ranked male competitor for the Irish as a No. 4 seed in the 1,500m (3:41.45).
