SOUTH BEND, Ind. – After 28 games on the road to begin the season, the Notre Dame softball team is set to lace it up for the first time in 2026 at Melissa Cook Stadium this weekend when the Irish host Clemson for a three-game Atlantic Coast Conference series.
Friday’s game will begin at 6:00 p.m. ET, followed by a Saturday matchup beginning at 1:00 p.m. ET. The series finale is slated for a noon first pitch on Sunday.
Ava Zachary, coming off ACC & Softball America Freshman of the Week Honors, will make her Melissa Cook Stadium debut after growing up just five miles away in Mishawaka.
Last week, Zachary hit .538 batting average in four starts at second base. She scored seven hits and scored six runs, leading the Irish to a 3-1 record in California last week, including a ranked series win at No. 19/20 Stanford.
This season marks the 19th year that Notre Dame is playing at Melissa Cook Stadium (including 2020, when the Irish didn’t compete at home due to Covid 19). The Irish are 186-41-1 all-time at Melissa Cook Stadium.
Last year, Notre Dame went 9-10 at home and are 506-135-4 all-time in South Bend since the 1989 season.
