SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are back in Purcell Pavilion this weekend as they host the North Carolina Tar Heels on Friday and the NC State Wolfpack on Sunday.

SETTING THE STAGE
• Notre Dame is back in Purcell Pavilion this weekend as they host the UNC Tar Heels on Friday, Nov. 4 and the NC State Wolfpack on Sunday, Nov. 6. Sunday’s match will be an “Irish Wear Green” match as fans are encouraged to join in and wear green.
• The games this weekend will be broadcasted on ACC Network Extra.
HISTORY VS. North Carolina
• This will be the 17th meeting between the Fighting Irish and Tar Heels with Notre Dame leading the overall series 9-7.
• The Irish have won four of the last five matchups and most recently won the last matchup on the road as the Irish took down UNC in three sets on Nov. 15, 2021 (25-22, 25-20, 25-21).
• The last win over the Irish was on March 21, 2021 at UNC where the Tar Heels defeated the No. 18 Irish in five sets (23-25, 21-25, 25-21, 25-18, 9-15).
• Prior to the last loss, Notre Dame swept the the Tar Heels in three straight matches from 2017-2019.
HISTORY VS. NC STATE
•The overall series between the Irish and Wolfpack is tied at 7-7 as Notre Dame and NC State meet for the 15th time this weekend.
• Notre Dame won the last matchup on Nov. 12, 2021 at Purcell Pavilion where the Irish swept the Wolfpack in three (25-16, 25-17, 25-20).
• The last loss to NC State was on Nov. 7, 2021 on the road, where the Irish fell in a close five setter (27-25, 21-25, 25-23, 17-25, 13-15).
•Another big win for the Irish was on March 5, 2021 as Notre Dame defeated No. 14 NC State in a three set sweep at Purcell (25-12, 25-19, 25-17).
