TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –The University of Notre Dame women’s golf team finished the Seminole Match-Up in the same place it started the day before, concluding with a final round 307 (+19) Sunday at the Southwood Golf Course to claim seventh place in the 12-team field. Overall, the Irish posted a 54-hole score of 906 (+42).
“We just got off to a rough start today,” said Irish head coach Susan Holt. “It was almost like a continuation of where we were yesterday. We are frustrated right now because we know the capabilities that this team has and we are not shooting what we should be shooting. It is a long season though, so we just have to move forward from here and continue to improve.”
Georgia rebounded to claim the tournament title, finishing with a 287 (-1) on day three to win with a score of 877 (+13) overall. Oklahoma (881, +17) and Tennessee (882, +18) finished second and third, respectively. Individually, Rocio Sanchez Lobato of Georgia and Erica Popson of Tennessee shared medalist honors at 214 (-2).

Weaver then finished her day with a bogey and a pair of pars.
Ashley Armstrong(Flossmoor, Ill.), much like Weaver, started slowly on the final round but bounced back over her final nine holes to close with a 76 (+4). The sophomore failed to register any birdies on her opening nine holes, carding five bogeys, but rallied with birdies on the first and fifth holes to offset only one bogey during the final nine holes. Overall, Armstrong finished tied for 28th at 227 (+11).
Talia Campbell(Dallas, Texas) finished her tournament with a third-round score of 79 (+7) to conclude tied for 36th at 231 (+15). On the day, the Irish freshman registered 11 pars, five bogeys, a triple bogey and a birdie on the par-3, third hole.
