SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Notre Dame women’s tennis team continued its hot start with its sixth shutout victory of the season, dominating Purdue, 7-0, on Friday night. The Fighting Irish improved to 7-1 overall, and in those seven victories, they have won by a combined margin of 45-1.
#25 Molnar/Pozder cruised to a 6-3 win in doubles, improving to 13-5 on the year.
#50 Bianca Molnar remained undefeated in dual matches (6-0) with a swift 6-2, 6-4 victory on court one over Ece Gencer. Molnar is now 13-4 overall on the year.
Akari Matsuno battled back after dropping the first set 6-4 to power through two tiebreak sets, 7-6(3), 12-10.
Sophia Holod earned a team-best 7th dual win with a straight-set victory on court three.
Bojana Pozder returned to the lineup with a 7-6(7), 6-4 win on court four over Kayal Gownder.
Rylie Hanford (4-0) and Jessica Kovalcik (6-0) also remained unblemished in singles dual matches, with straight-set wins on courts five and six, respectively.
