2021 Badger Invitational Final Results
The University of Notre Dame women’s golf team shot a 877 (+13) to claim second place by just two strokes (SMU, 875) at the University of Wisconsin’s Badger Invitational at University Ridge Golf Course in Verona, Wisconsin, on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.
The Irish compiled rounds of 299, 289 and 289 to move up the leaderboard throughout the three-day event, eventually securing second place on Tuesday – combining to shoot one over par.
Tuesday’s rally to second place was keyed by junior Lauren Beaudreau, who shot a three-under 69 which allowed her to leap 16 spots up the individual leaderboard and finish in 8th place (218, +2). Beaudreau was one of just two golfers to break 70 during the final round.
Freshman Montgomery Ferreira improved to a 72 during the final round to help the Irish move up the leaderboard, while junior Madelyn Jones keyed Notre Dame’s second round performance with a two-under-par 70.
The second place team finish marks the best group effort for the Irish since the team placed second at the Indiana University Spring Challenge in April of 2021.
