SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team earned a pair of victories over Atlantic Coast Conference competition this weekend. The Fighting Irish conclude the regular season with a 15-9 overall record, and a 5-7 mark in league action. With that finish, the Irish will be the nine-seed in next week’s ACC Tournament in Cary, North Carolina.
How It Happened – Syracuse
The weekend started with a 4-2 victory over the visiting Syracuse Orange Friday night at the Courtney Tennis Center. Doubles play saw the Irish take the point, with a pair of 6-2 wins at the top two flights. Singles competition saw the Irish take three of the five that were completed. Page Freeman, Yashna Yellayi and Akari Matsuno each had a three-set victory.

How It Happened – Boston College
After celebrating the program’s two seniors in a pregame ceremony at Eck Tennis Pavilion, the Irish rode that momentum to a 5-2 win over the visiting Boston College Eagles on Sunday.
Doubles action saw the Irish narrowly earn the point. Freeman and Bojana Pozder earned a 7-5 win at the third flight. Julia Andreach and Carrie Beckman rallied for a 7-6 (4) win at the top flight to take the point.
Singles play saw Notre Dame take four of six competitions, one by a straight set tally. Pozder added to the lead with a 6-1, 7-5 win at No. 3. Freeman, Yellayi, and Beckman secured the win with three-set wins at flights one, four and five, respectively.
