NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Irish track and field squads opened competition at the Mt. SAC Relays and the Dave Rankin Track and Field Invitational Friday.
Mt. SAC Results
Women’s 400-Meter Hurdles: Joanna Schultz finished third in the first section with a time of 1:00.93.
Women’s 3000-Meter Steeplechase: Lindsey Ferguson finished 12th in the invitational race with a time of 10:15.23.
Women’s Discus Throw: Jaclyn Espinoza finished third in the first flight with a mark of 47.94m (157-0), while Anna Weber finished 16th at 39.30m (128-1).
Women’s Heptathlon: Maddie Buttinger finished 14th with 4,731 points.
Women’s Hammer Throw: Anna Weber finished third in Flight Three with a mark of 59.03m (193-0).
Men’s 400-Meter Hurdles: Balazs Molnar won the first section with a time of 51.86.
Men’s Hammer Throw: John Belcher finished fourth in the second flight with a throw of 52.32m (171-0).
Men’s Decathlon: Justin Schneider finished second with 6,973 points.
Dave Rankin Track and Field Invitational Results
Men’s Hammer Throw: Greg Davis finished third with a mark of 56.32m (184-09). Jeff Mensch was seventh at 52.76m (173-01), Mitchell Gormley was eighth at 52.07m (170-10), Denes Veres finished 10th with a throw of 49.72m (163-01) and Andrew Hills was 19th at 44.37m (145-07).
The Irish will continue competition at both meets on Saturday.
