FOR STARTERS
- The Irish travel to take on Virginia Tech and Jacksonville on March 10 and March 13.
- The matchup against Jacksonville will take place at neutral site Matthews Sports Complex.
- Bridget Deehan is coming off career-high week against the Cavaliers with 16 saves.
- Notre Dame is coming off a 2021 campaign in which it finished 11-7 and earned an NCAA Tournament berth.
THE NOTRE DAME – VIRGINIA TECH SERIES
- The Irish and Hokies will be meeting for the 12th time on Thursday with Notre Dame holding a 11-1 advantage in the all-time series and a 6-0 mark at home.
- Notre Dame and Virginia Tech last met on April 21, 2021 when the Irish earned a 15-10 victory over the Hokies.
- Kasey Choma matched her career-high with six goals against the Hokies. (Feb. 23, 2020 andJackie Wolak collected a career-high five points (3G, 2A) in the victory.
- Diana Kelly’s four caused turnovers in the last matchup was a career-high.
- Irish head coach Christine Halfpenny was a four-year letter winner with Virginia Tech from 1996-1999.
- Halfpenny helped guide the Hokies to the 1999 Atlantic 10 Conference crown.
THE NOTRE DAME – JACKSONVILLE SERIES
- This will be just the third meeting for the Irish and the Dolphins.
- In their last meeting, the Irish collected a dominate 17-6 win over Jacksonville.
- The Irish hold a 2-0 series advantage over the Dolphins.
- In the matchup in 2018, now captain, Maddie Howe, made her first career start against the Dolphins.
- Howe led the team in the game with three goals and four points.
DEEHAN DIALED IN
- Deehan earned a new career-high against Virginia on March 6, 2022 with 16 saves in the Irish 12-10 victory.
- She was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week on March 8, 2022.
- Deehan enters the 2022 season as the ACC’s leader in saves per game (9.28) and notched double-digit saves in eight outings last season.
- Deehan earned four weekly honors (ACC DPOTW and IWLCA DPOTW) in the 2021 season on March 30, April 13, and April 27. In the 13-9 victory at Duke (March 28, 2021), Deehan made 12 saves and collected a career high six ground balls en route to being named the IWLCA and ACC Defensive Player of the Week on March 30.
- Deehan has notched double-digit saves on eight occasions in the 2021 season, including a trio of 14-save outings against top-10 opponents: at #2 Syracuse (March 14), at #7 Virginia (April 3) and vs. #1 North Carolina (April 10).
- Deehan returns to action as a preseason All-American Honorable Mention, Preseason All-ACC and two time Irish captain.
AHERN ON ATTACK
- Madison Ahern leads the Irish squad so far in the 2022 season with 20 goals.
- She notched her 100th career point against the Virginia Cavaliers in a 12-10 Irish win.
- Ahern tied her career high with six goals against #3 Syracuse on February 26, 2022.
- She has scored a goal at least two goals in four of five contests, with four hat tricks this season.
DAUGHTERS FOR DADS/COMMUNITY SERVICE
- Notre Dame Women’s Lacrosse annually dedicates a portion of their season to raise awareness and funding for the Harper Cancer Research Institute through their Daughters for Dads (D4D) campaign.
- The program just started its eighth annual D4D campaign and its fundraising efforts including a virtual 5K.

- The Irish also joined forces with Virginia for a “One Love Game” in Charlottesville on April 3, 2021 to raise awareness for the One Love Foundation.
- Last year, for their contest vs. Robert Morris on March 6, the Irish participated in “Game Hair Havoc” and helped raise over $3,700 for the HeadSTRONG Foundation and families affected by cancer.
