EVANSTON, Ill. – The University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team wrapped up the second day of competition Saturday at the Wildcat Invitational, turning in a 2-7 record in one round of singles play, while going 4-11 in doubles.
No. 112 Brooke Broda improved to 2-0 on the weekend and advanced to the Purple Draw semifinal in singles while Jane Fennelly also picked up a win Saturday. The Irish also picked up four off-bracket doubles wins, including a 6-2 win for No. 48 Broda and Monica Robinson over Adorabol Huckleby and Aimee Tarun of Iowa.
The Irish will wrap up the Wildcat Invitational on Sunday. Play begins at 10 a.m. ET.

Joanne Norell, athletics communications assistant director at the University of Notre Dame, has been part of the Fighting Irish athletics communications team since 2014 and coordinates communications efforts for the Notre Dame women’s soccer, men’s tennis, women’s tennis and fencing programs. Norell is a 2011 graduate of Purdue University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communication, and earned her master’s degree in sports industry management from Georgetown University in 2013.
