CLEMSON, S.C. – On the weekend of October 3, seven representatives of the Notre Dame women’s tennis program traveled to Clemson to compete in the Inaugural Duckworth Fall Classic.
The seven Irish squared off against the Tigers in singles competition on day one, where Clemson took it 4-3. The very next day, they competed in doubles action, where Clemson bested Notre Dame 2-1.
The doubles pairing of Bianca Molnar and Bojana Pozder continued their hot hand from ITA All-Americans, winning their matchup over Cisovsk/Yecora, 6-3.
Molnar made it a perfect weekend with a 7-6(3), 6-1 singles win over Artemis Aslanisvili. Akari Matsuno notched a hard fought 6-4, 6-3 win over Candela Yecora, while Mari Louise Van Zyl rounded out the Irish wins with a swift 6-2, 6-0 victory over Gaia Parravicini.
Up next, the Irish will participate in the Wolverine Invitational in Ann Arbor from Oct. 10-12.
