COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Karen and Kevin Keyes Family Head Coach Niele Ivey will serve as an assistant coach for the USA Basketball U18 Women’s Junior National Team this summer, the organization announced on Thursday. It will be Ivey’s debut as a USA Basketball assistant coach after she served as a court coach at the 2023 USA Women’s U19 National Team trials.
Ivey will coach alongside Indiana head coach Teri Moren and South Florida head coach Jose Fernandez. Moren will serve as the team’s head coach this summer. They will head to a to-be-determined location for the 2024 FIBA U18 Women’s AmeriCup from June 17-23.
Ivey is in her fourth year at the helm in South Bend and has accumulated an 82-31 record. She has led the team to back-to-back Sweet 16 appearances over the last two seasons, led Notre Dame to a 2023 ACC regular season title, and was the 2023 ACC Coach of the Year. Prior to taking over the program, Ivey was an Irish point guard and assistant coach for Notre Dame. She is the common link to all nine of the program’s Final Four appearances — two as a player and seven as an assistant.
