KANSAS CITY – United Soccer Coaches and the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) announced the 15 women’s semifinalists for the 2024 MAC Hermann Trophy, based on voting by NCAA Division I women’s soccer coaches. To no surprise for Notre Dame women’s soccer fans, freshman sensation Izzy Engle was amongst the standouts on the list.
The MAC Hermann Trophy is the most coveted individual honor in NCAA Division I soccer and has been awarded annually since 1967.
Izzy Engle finished the season with 19 goals, which ranked as the sixth most by a Notre Dame freshman. Furthermore, her 19 goals tied for the most in the country in 2024.
Engle ended the season on a high note, scoring nine of her goals over the last nine games. She was one of the top reasons the Irish made a run to the NCAA Quarterfinal round.
Engle also finished with 39 points which led the Irish, ranked second in the ACC and sixth nationally.
Three women’s finalists will be named for the award on Wednesday, Dec. 11. The 2024 MAC Hermann Trophy banquet will be held at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis on Jan. 3, 2025, to formally announce this year’s winners.
