SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame softball team will host its 14th annual Strikeout Cancer weekend April 5-7. The Fighting Irish will play a three-game Atlantic Coast Conference series against the Virginia Cavaliers.
Since 2011, this event has been a part of the Notre Dame softball program. The team helps raise funds to assist local families with a child battling cancer. A trivia night, silent auction and home run derby are some of the events that the team hosts to help raise money to support the children and families.

Following Sunday’s contest at Melissa Cook Stadium, fans will have a chance to participate in a home run derby, with $10 for 10 swings if paying by card, or $5 for 5 swings if paying with cash. To participate in the home run derby, fans can use this link.

Proceeds from these events will be donated to the Harper Cancer Research Institute and the Samantha hickey Memorial Foundation.
