ITA All-American Championships Singles Main Draw

TULSA, Okla. – University of Notre Dame men’s tennis junior Alex Lebedev is into the second round of the main draw at the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men’s All-American Championships after taking down a top 10 opponent in Thursday’s opening round at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center at the University of Tulsa.
Lebedev, ranked No. 104 in the preseason Oracle/ITA singles rankings, defeated No. 9 William Bushamuka of Kentucky after Bushamuka withdrew in the midst of the second set. Lebedev had a one-set lead and was leading in the set.
Lebedev cruised through the first stanza, earning the first break to go up 2-1 and winning out to claim the set. He repeated the process in the second, going up 3-1 before Bushamuka withdrew.
Lebedev will advance to Friday’s Round of 32, where he will face No. 29 JJ Wolf of Ohio State.
