SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Notre Dame men’s soccer center back Josh Ramsey has signed his first career pro contract with Lexington SC following his stellar four-year career in South Bend.
“We are all incredibly excited for Josh as he takes the next step in his journey and transitions into the professional ranks,” said McFarland Family Head Men’s Soccer Coach Chad Riley.
“He had an outstanding career on the field at Notre Dame and, through his hard work and dedication, was able to graduate in just 3.5 years—allowing him to chase his professional soccer dreams with a Notre Dame degree in his back pocket. We are immensely proud of him and can’t wait to see all that he accomplishes at the next level!”
Ramsey was an anchor on Notre Dame’s backline for four seasons, earning 78 starts while appearing in 80 matches.
The defender played a pivotal role in Notre Dame’s most recent success, including two College Cup appearances, an ACC regular season title and an ACC Tournament title, which was the first in program history.
During his junior season in 2023 the Irish allowed just 15 goals on the year, which were the second fewest for a season in program history. Notre Dame racked up 12 clean sheets in the 2023 season, which led the ACC and ranked tied for second in the country.
Lexington SC will be making it’s debut season in the UCL Championship this year.
