GREENSBORO, N.C. – As announced by the conference on Wednesday, Andrew Machovec and Kaylin Hsieh were named men’s and women’s ACC Fencer of the Week after their performances at the St. John’s Invitational and the Philadelphia Invitational.
Andrew Machovec went 18-0 on the weekend in matches against four top-10 teams. The men’s team took home the winning trophy at the St. John’s Invitational as well as going undefeated at the Philadelphia Invitational.
Kaylin Hsieh went 13-2 through the weekend, taking down the number two and three teams in the country. Hsieh had three perfect bouts in five matches.
The Irish host the Decicco Duals this Saturday and Sunday from 8 am to 5:30pm.
