SOUTH BEND, Ind. — University of Notre Dame senior, and Irish hockey captain in 2025-26, Michael Mastrodomenico has signed an amateur tryout agreement with the Ontario Reign of the American Hockey League for the 2026-27 season.
“Ontario is a dream scenario for me,” Mastrodomenico said upon the signing of his first professional contract. “The way they operate, their staff, and the care they have for every detail. This is an exciting first step on my journey as a pro and I look forward to getting started.”
In four seasons at the Notre Dame blueline, Mastrodomenico appeared in 120 career games and amassed 36 points off 10 goals and 26 assists. His fourth year saw him light the lamp a career-high five times while adding eight assists to his total for a total of 13 points in 35 games played with the “C” upon his sweater.
The Reign are the AHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings.
