NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame men’s lacrosse program will open the 2019 season as the No. 6 team in the country according to the annual Inside Lacrosse Preseason Face-off Yearbook rankings.
The Irish have been ranked in the top 10 in the preseason poll in each of the last nine seasons. All five ACC teams earned rankings inside the top 16 this season, including three in the top 10 of the poll.
Notre Dame returns three Inside Lacrosse All-Americans from last season’s squad. Junior midfielder Bryan Costabile earned second team honors while senior short-stick defensive midfielder Drew Schantz was selected to the third team and attackman/midfielder Brendan Gleason was named honorable mention.
The Irish won the 2018 ACC Championship for the second time in its five seasons in the league and earned the No. 7 seed for the NCAA Championships.
