CHARLOTTE – The Atlantic Coast Conference office released its league Player, Freshman and Doubles Team of the Week on Tuesday afternoon, and a Notre Dame duo took home the Doubles award. For the second straight week, Bianca Molnar and Bojana Pozder claimed the ACC Doubles weekly honor, spearheading a 2-o weekend for the Irish women’s team.
Molnar and Pozder defeated a pair of ranked doubles teams from Stanford and Cal this past weekend. They first defeated No. 88 Ekstrand/Driscoll of Stanford, 6-1, clinching the doubles point in that match. Next, they knocked off No. 65 Svendsen/Mushika of Cal, 6-3.
The Irish duo has now won three straight against ranked doubles teams, which kicked off with their biggest win of the year over No. 10 Van Impe/McGinley from SMU. They boast eight total ranked wins on the year.
Earlier today via ITA, Molnar/Pozder moved up from a national doubles ranking of No. 45 to No. 34.
