Blue-Gold weekend always provides a great opportunity for Monogram Club members to visit campus and connect during Club events and various other activities taking place.
The 2019 edition of Blue-Gold weekend featured the Monogram Club partnering with the football program for the Notre Dame Football Alumni Weekend. Monogram Club members also gathered on Saturday for a brunch inside O’Brien’s at the Compton Family Ice Arena before cheering on the Fighting Irish at several sporting events on campus, including the 90th annual Blue-Gold game inside Notre Dame Stadium.
A highlight of the weekend was presenting Notre Dame legend Rocky Bleier (’68, football) with the Edward “Moose” Krause Distinguished Service Award, the highest honor the Monogram Club bestows on one of its members. Bleier noted during his acceptance speech that Friday (April 12) marked 55 years to the day that he signed his letter of intent to come to Notre Dame.
Here’s a look back at the weekend…

A dinner was held Friday evening for the current Fighting Irish football team and their families along with the football alumni back on campus. It was a great opportunity for the many eras of Notre Dame football to come together. At the dinner, Brian Kelly (honorary) was presented with the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award after leading Notre Dame to a 12-0 regular season and a berth in the College Football Playoff.
“The Bobby Dodd trophy is more than something that sits on your mantle, it’s about why we do what we do as coaches. My why is to develop our players.” – @CoachBrianKelly pic.twitter.com/rJ0MIGepNz
