SOUTH BEND, Ind. –Junior cornerback Leonard Moore has been selected as a nominee for the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, which recognizes those who are making an impact through community service, academic achievement and leadership through causes ranging from maternal health and youth mentorship to supporting children with disabilities and veterans.
Moore, a Texas native, is one of 162 nominees for the honor. The final roster of the 2026 Good Works Team will be announced in September and consist of 22 football student-athletes and one honorary head coach. In 2025, Irish offensive lineman Aamil Wagner was selected to the Good Works Team. In 2024, Irish linebacker Jack Kiser was selected to the team and Notre Dame Dick Corbett Head Football Coach Marcus Freeman was named the team’s honorary head coach for their efforts in the community.
Moore leads initiatives to combat chronic absenteeism and inspire student success through mentorship and accountability with Tackle Attendance South Bend, a community-driven initiative founded by Moore. Focused on creating a culture of accountability and encouragement, the program unites schools, families, and local partners to provide mentorship, resources, and innovative engagement tools. Tackle Attendance is dedicated to helping students stay engaged, build positive habits, and reach their full potential.
Moore also volunteers for the Black Student Athlete Summit, something he has participated in annually since 2015. He also partners with NDAQ Academie, where he completely funded a new, regulation size basketball court in Dakar, Senegal this past June to expand access opportunities and build a resource that can serve the community for years to come.
In 2025, Moore was named a Unanimous All-American after leading the team with five interceptions, tied for the seventh-most in the country. He tallied 31.0 total tackles, forced one fumble and had seven pass breakups.
