Natalie Hoefer Selected As One Of Nation's Top Rowers Entering 2025

As the University of Notre Dame rowing team continues its preseason workout schedule pushing toward the start of the 2025 season in March, senior Natalie Hoefer has been recognized as one of the nation’s best.

A two-time first-team All-ACC selection, Hoefer has also competed twice for the United States Under-23 National Team, helping the W8+ finish second at the 2024 Under-23 World Championships.

In addition to Hoefer’s selection, senior Maggie Newell and senior coxswain Annemarie Wallis were highlighted as part of For Stars Network Spring Athlete Watchlist.

For Stars Network released the Annual FSN Spring Athlete Watchlist for Women’s Rowers and Coxswains in Division 1 Women’s Rowing with 93 Division 1 teams, 163 athletes honored on the list, and 29 athletes in the ACC. A total of 1-3 athletes from each team have been selected as athletes “on the rise” in the program. These athletes have demonstrated and qualified their placement on this watchlist through their race results, erg times, improvement within their team, positive trajectory in talent and skill since last season and this past Fall semester, research of the program and athlete over a one year period, and coach recommendations on their respective teams in Division 1 Women’s Rowing.
