NOTRE DAME, Ind. – With the regular season at a close, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced its final women’s soccer Player of the Week honors, as Notre Dame goalkeeper Ashley Naylor got the Defensive honor. The accolade is the first for Naylor. Meanwhile, it marks the program’s third this season, with both Sammi Fisher and Eva Gaetino previously recognized.
Naylor came up big in the 2-1 regular-season finale win over Wake Forest, notching a career best 10 saves.
Naylor has done a terrific job all season, being thrusted into the starting role after senior goalkeeper Mattie Interian went down with an injury in the fourth game on the year.
The California native boasts 35 saves on the year with a 0.99 goals against average. Naylor has recorded three solo shutouts as well.
