WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Irish track and field throwers competed on the first day of the Mike Poehlein Invitational, hosted by Purdue.
Women’s Hammer Throw: Anna Weber won the event with a mark of 58.80m (192-11).
Men’s Hammer Throw: Greg Davis finished fifth with a toss of 55.17m (181-00), just ahead of Denes Veres in eighth at 51.38m (168-07). Mitchell Gormley was 12th with a mark of 50.80m (166-08), Jeff Mensch finished 14th at 49.82m (163-05) and Andrews Hills was 19th with a toss of 45.33m (148-09).
The second day of the Mike Poehlein Invitational gets underway Saturday.
