NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame men’s and women’s basketball teams held their annual Media Day activities on Monday afternoon inside Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center. In addition to press conferences with head coaches Mike Brey and Muffet McGraw, the players and staff for both teams were available for interviews with members of the media. What’s more, both teams took their 2010-11 team photos, as well as a handful of group photos, with Mike Bennett and his talented crew from Lighthouse Imaging in Mishawaka, Ind.

The Notre Dame women’s basketball teams held its first offical practice on Oct. 7, in accordance with a new NCAA rule that allows women’s teams to begin practicing 40 days prior to their first game. The Fighting Irish men’s basketball team will tip off its fall practice slate on Friday, in preparation for its 2010-11 exhibition opener at 7:30 p.m. (ET) Nov. 1 against Marian at Purcell Pavilion. The Notre Dame women’s basketball team will take the court for the first time at 7 p.m. (ET) on Nov. 3 when it plays host to Michigan Tech in an exhibition game.
