- Today marked the second meeting all-time between Notre Dame and Stony Brook. The Irish topped the Seawolves 95-66 during the 2006-07 campaign.
- Seniors Tyrone Nash (F), Tim Abromaitis (F), Carleton Scott (F), Ben Hansbrough (G) and Scott Martin (G) started today’s contest. It marked the 10th time (out of 11 games) this season that quintet has started.
- Senior forward Tyrone Nash extended his consecutive games played streak to a team-best 61 contests. Nash and senior guard Ben Hansbrough both have started 46 straight contests, which is a team-high total.
- Carleton Scott (20 points) scored 20-plus points for the second straight game (and second time in his career). He netted a career-high 23 points versus Gonzaga on Dec. 11.
- Carleton Scott was a perfect 8-8 from the field, including 4-4 from three-point range. The four made three-pointers were a career-high total. His previous high was three on four occasions. He also dished out a career-high five assists on Sunday.
- With his 20 points on Sunday, Carleton Scott now has scored in double figures in the past nine games, which is the longest double-digit scoring streak on the team this season. It also is a career-best streak for Scott. He has reached double-digits 13 times in his career.
- Carleton Scott’s three-pointer less than a minute into the contest extended Notre Dame’s streak to 385 straight games with a made three-pointer. The Fighting Irish have made at least one three pointer during every game of the Mike Brey era.
- With his game-high 22 points, Tim Abromaitis reached double-figures in points for the ninth time this season and 37th time in his career. He has scored 20-plus points five times this season and 13 times in his career.
- Ben Hansbrough (14 points) has scored in double-figures a team-best 10 times this season. He has reached double-digits 59 times in his career (33 times while at Notre Dame).
- Notre Dame is off to a 10-1 start for the first time since the 2006-07 campaign. That Irish squad opened the season with a 13-1 record.
- The Irish eclipsed the 80-point mark for the seventh time this season. Notre Dame’s 41 first-half points marked the seventh time this season the Irish have netted 40-plus points in the first half of play.
