NOTRE DAME, Ind. – University of Notre Dame men’s track and field standout Chris Giesting has earned the third BIG EAST Men’s Track Athlete of the Week citation of his career, the league office announced Tuesday.
Giesting, who earned an All-America scroll in the 400m dash at the 2013 NCAA Indoor Championships, won the 400m dash (46.31) and ran a leg of the winning 4x400m relay team (3:06.71) at last weekend’s Stanford Invitational.
The 400m time puts Giesting first in the BIG EAST and second in the NCAA East Region and country, while the 4x400m relay time slots the Irish fourth in the East region and eighth in the country.
Giesting and his Irish teammates head to East Lansing, Mich., this weekend for the Michigan State Invitational, April 5-6.
